Martha is based out of Los Angeles and obtained her MFA in Lighting Design from the University of California at Irvine. She is also a Professor of Design and Technology at Cal State Long Beach and enjoys collaborating with ensemble companies to create new work that insights positive change within communities. Martha enjoys working in a wide array of theatrical entertainment including theme parks, live events, dance, theatre, and art installations. She has designed and assisted in many theatres on the east and west coasts, some of which include Famous at The 11:11, The Willows at The Bootleg Theatre, The View Upstairs at The Celebration Theater, Hello Stranger at Theatre of Note, Peter Pan and Evita in Panama City Panama, Romeo and Juliet at Great River Shakespeare Festival. She was also recently nominated for an Ovation award for Burners, a new play produced by Moving Arts. One of Martha's bigest passions is lighting for dance. She is an active member, and the lighting designer, for Re:BorN Dance Interactive, a contemporary dance company that is based in California which strives to go beyond the aesthetics of contemporary modern dance. She works with a number of choreographers as their lighting designer and collaborates with them throughout their creative process.
